چکیده

Global warming and rising energy demands have increased renewable (RE) usage globally. Wind has become the most technologically advanced source. turbines (WTs) must ride through faults to ensure power system stability. On flip side, permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSG)-based wind turbine plants (WTPPs) are susceptible grid voltage fluctuations require extra regulations maintain regular operations. Due recent changes in code standards, it vital explore alternate fault ride-through (FRT) methods their capabilities. This research will that FRT solutions available via Web of Science (WoS) database vetted compared hardware retrofitting, internal software control changes, hybrid techniques. In addition, a bibliometric analysis is provided, which reveals an ever-increasing volume works dedicated topic. After that, literature study techniques for PMSG WTs carried out, demonstrating evolution these over time. paper concludes additional required enhance capabilities further attention topics, such as machine learning tools combination smoothing approaches, should arise following years.

Fault-Ride through Strategy for Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Generators in Variable-Speed Wind Turbines

Abstract: Currently, the electric power production by wind energy conversion systems (WECSs) has increased significantly. Consequently, wind turbine (WT) generators are requested to fulfill the grid code (GC) requirements stated by network operators. In case of grid faults/voltage dips, a mismatch between the generated active power from the wind generator and the active power delivered to the g...

A Permanent Magnet Generator for Small Scale Wind Turbines

This paper describes the development of a permanent magnet generator for small scale wind turbines. The generator has been designed for ease of manufacture so that it can be made by small mechanical engineering companies with limited electrical engineering knowledge. The generator has also been designed to have no cogging torque so that it can be used with all horizontal and vertical axis turbi...

A novel axial flux permanent magnet generator for wind turbines

This paper presents the development of a framework used to optimize and experimentally validate a novel axial flux direct-drive (DD) permanent magnet generator (PMG) for the offshore wind turbine market. This technology aims to offer significant levelized cost of energy (LCoE) reductions via capital expenditure and operating expense (CAPEX and OPEX) savings – a key objective for the offshore in...

An Optimal Integrated Control Scheme for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator-Based Wind Turbines under Asymmetrical Grid Fault Conditions

Abstract: In recent years, the increasing penetration level of wind energy into power systems has brought new issues and challenges. One of the main concerns is the issue of dynamic response capability during outer disturbance conditions, especially the fault-tolerance capability during asymmetrical faults. In order to improve the fault-tolerance and dynamic response capability under asymmetric...
